November Happenings

Once again another month has passed me by.  Here is a look at what we were up to in November..

Just a cute gal in boots!

 Ella Kate got a big girl bed.  When we revealed it she started jumping up and down on it and going crazy!  She has exceeded expectations and is doing so well with it.  We haven't had to turn the door knob around like we did with Evan :)

 We attended the Aggie game verses Missouri.  It was so much fun! Evan even high-fived Johnny Football.

 Soccer season came to a close.  Evan's team did so well this year.  We have one more season with our fabulous group of friends before they make us split guys and gals :(

 

 Evan had an authentic Thanksgiving Feast at school.  They cooked their meal over a fire.  I love how his school is out in the country too!

 Evan was an Indian in his Thanksgiving play. He did great and it was such a cute and meaningful production!  He told me he was nervous that morning :)

Mops Trip to Crowe's Nest Farm

Ella Kate is scared of shadows, flies, butterflies, mosquitoes, and all kinds of noises. But, she was fearless around the animals :)

 I was reminded why I think cow's milk should be for cows. 

 Our annual trip to the pumpkin patch! I can't believe this guy has been 7 times!  It's never stress free but at least we get a few good shots each year.

San Antonio

We needed to be in San Antonio last week for my grandfather's military funeral service.  At the last minute, we decided to make a trip out of it.  I wish I would have had our video camera rolling when we told the kids the night before we left. They started hugging each other and screaming!  So cute!

 Dinner afterward...

 We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort.  At the fire pit, for marshmallow roasting, the raccoons joined us.  The hotel employee said they will tug on your shirt until you give them a bite of smores.  Yuck!  I stayed away.  

 

 The next day, we celebrated Pete's life at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.  It was a special day for our family as we remembered him and honored his many years of service to our country.  

 We squeezed in a quick stop at the Alamo on the way home!  

September Happenings

Ella Kate started tap and ballet.  She is "playing up" and taking a 3 year old combo class.  The 2 year old times did not work for us so the studio let us give it a try.  Although she cannot do all the moves, she is an excellent listener and really hangs tough for an hour! I'm so proud of her. And the best part is that it is the highlight of her week!

 Ella Kate started Wednesday school.  She is a pro at that, too, and looks forward to going each week.  The shocker is that she actually is taking her nap there!  And, a good one, too! I could not believe it. She is the child who never sleeps in the car and struggles to go to sleep when we are on vacation. Yay, EK!

Her teachers said she will paint for entire hour!  I think she went through 10 pieces of paper one day.

 September means it is time for us to select Halloween costumes.  EK decided to be Cinderella.  I brought it home and she tried it on. Then she said she wanted to be Jasmine instead. So, we returned it!  She's indecisive like me.

 We have been enjoying our gorgeous weather!

 EK and I spend a lot of time at parks now that we're on the elementary schedule. We drop off brother and I go for a run and she plays.  And, it's still only 9am when we're done!

 Evan is doing so well at school. Most days, he comes home with "blue star"  and he even wants to go to school on Saturdays. He has made some great friends, too.

He had his first recitation, recently, where the kindergarten classes recited Psalm 100.  It was amazing!  We were so proud of him and hope he keeps the scriptures he learns in his mind and heart.
